Reedbeds provide a unique habitat for a wide range of mammals, birds, invertebrates and reptiles.

The ever changing wilderness that is synonomous with mature reedbeds attracts a variety of wintering birds during the darker, colder months as well as an array of nesting birds in the Spring and Summer.

It is worth remembering that much of the activity will be happening deep in the reeds themselves, so to fully appreciate your surroungings and the local inhabitants, it is essential to stop, look and listen.... Check out the drop down tabs on this page for what you might see ...... if you are lucky!
