Other stuff to see and do

Please find below some titbits of information which we hope you will find useful, especially if you are not familiar with our local area. They have been put together in a rather random fashion, so please do "reed on" to find out what else you can do when you visit Quarry Walk at Pastures Farm, Grendon.

For a Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast we recommend Sywell Grange Sywell, or you could always choose to stay across the fields at Pastures Farm, Grendon. Alternatively, if you would like to stay in the heart of the village then try Old Farm House, Grendon you won't be disappointed.

If it is a hearty meal you are after then Dunkley's Restaurant just across the road would be an excellent choice. The former railway station and carriage make a unique venue for a memorable meal out. You could always try The Half Moon pub in the heart of our local community in Grendon, where fresh homemade meals are served both at lunchtime and in the evenings. It is worth remembering that Mondays is 'fish and chip' day.

Quarry Walk is surrounded by many places of interest, if you are planning to call in to Earls Barton then All Saints Church with its ancient Saxon Tower that dates back to 970AD is certainly worth a visit, as is David Jeyes on the Square. The delightful pharmacy is a typical rabbit warren, boasting the Dolly Lodge (perfect for dolls house enthusiasts), Market Harborough Building Society, Earls Barton Museum, Apotofcoffee coffee shop as well as a vast selection of gifts to peruse.

Take a drive or walk in the opposite direction and you will find yourself at Castle Ashby Rural Shopping Yard which is situated in the grounds of one of Northamptonshire's most stunning stately homes.  Castle Ashby Rural Shopping Yard consists of a number of individual shops, with something for everybody. The delicatessen attracts customers far and wide and makes wonderful browsing! If you are after a light bite, then The Buttery is certain to satisfy.

For those wanting to continue their ramble across the fields towards Grendon, or even fancy taking in some water sports, then Grendon Lakes is just up your street. From water skiing and fishing through to jet skiing and quad biking, they have it all.
